Selcuk “Sel” Cakir

Chief Operating Officer

Sel is a managing partner and acting Chief Operating Officer of PropCap.  He has been a principal investor across broad segments of commercial real estate since 2004.

Previously, Sel served as a partner at MSD Capital’s Real Estate Group (“MSD”, Michael Dell’s Family Office). Under his leadership, MSD directly invested in and controlled a portfolio in excess of $6 billion of office, hotel, apartment, timber and well as banking assets including debt.  Sel also oversaw the Firm’s Four Seasons and Fairmont branded hospitality portfolio and related operating companies. Prior to joining MSD in 2004, he was a principal at TenX Capital, the private equity arm of Cerberus Capital Management, focusing on special situations investments.

Sel began his career in 1991 with McKinsey & Company in Switzerland, where he advised the top management of Fortune 100 companies in banking & insurance, airlines and leisure sectors.
